Flying an Army Reconnaissance Mission in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, our radar picked up a moving object in a "free fire zone" near the Ho Chi Minh Trail. I called Air Force F–105 Thunderchief to engage. It was confirmed... "elephant floating down river."
